Hi All
Last week it was my son, Thomas’s birthday. I cannot believe he is 14 years old, but we did celebrate in style, even in LOCKDOWN, with a rather large candle from his Grandma! I am not sure she realised quite how large the flame would be and yes it did set off the FIRE ALARM and scare his sister!!!!!
Being 14 years old, this year we probably spent more time with Thomas celebrating his birthday that we might have done, if things had been normal, (as he would have probably spent the day with his friends instead!) As his Dad, this was something very positive that was caused by LOCKDOWN.
I was wondering what other things have been positive or better because of Lockdown for you and your family. So this led me to create this week’s challenge!
1st WEEKLY CHALLENGE:
Please send to adminoffice@pilgrimscross.co.uk photos or a few sentences or a drawing that demonstrates something that has got better or is more positive due to LOCKDOWN.
We know LOCKDOWN has not been ideal and at times, really hard, but I think we all can think of something that has been improved due to LOCKDOWN.
ALL you entries will be added to this webpage as a “CELEBRATION of LOCKDOWN @ PILGRIMS CROSS”
2nd WEEKLY CHALLENGE
Many of the residents of the local care homes still have not been able to have visitors to see them. So please before we enter the holidays, could you send a further letter or drawing to them. Below are the linked Year group care homes.

"We have been very busy in our garden over lockdown and we have planted vegetables from seeds and watched them grow!
Runner beans
Tomatoes
Carrots
Beetroot
We have also got a herb garden going and have used the herbs in our family meals.
Now we have got some green fingers we are going to start growing veg each year and try and grow some different vegetables next year!
It’s been lovely been able to spend time together as a family in the garden."
