Travel to School

Our school travel and action plan have  been updated, in order to reflect the expansion of our school. A draft copy of the plan can be found below:

Sustainable Travel

We have worked closely with the School Travel and Transport Team at Hampshire County Council, as well as the housing agents on the Picket Twenty development, in order to devise safe and sustainable routes to school.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE SCHOOL IS SITUATED IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONSTRUCTION SITE AND YOU MUST ADHERE TO THE ROUTES THAT HAVE BEEN PLANNED WHEN TRAVELLING ON FOOT OR BY CAR. THIS IS TO ENSURE EVERYBODY'S SAFETY. THANK YOU.

Walking, Cycling and Scooting

We would like to encourage all our children to walk, cycle or scoot to school wherever possible.

A secure, fenced footpath has been created to avoid all construction traffic. This is highlighted in black and white broken lines on the attached map below and runs adjacent to the temporary community centre and then along the right hand side entrance of the school. The school gate on this side will be opened at the beginning and end of the day for pupils and parents. For the remainder of the day, if you are visiting the school please enter via the main school entrance.

Footpaths around the development that lead to the school, are denoted by brown footpath signs.

Cycle and scooter storage is available at the school. The school accepts no liability for items left within these storage areas. Children should always wear a cycle helmet when cycling or scootering and be accompanied by a parent. Bikes should have lights and be checked regularly to ensure that they are in good working order. A lock is advised.

Access off the development

There is a bus, cycle and pedestrian underpass to Picket Twenty off the London Road. Cars are not permitted to use this entrance, although can access Picket Twenty off the roundabout and by following the yellow highlighted route on the map attached below.

A footbridge into Picket Twenty is also available to provide a safe crossing off the A3093 and an alternative route to the Town via London Road. It also provides access to the Ladies Walk and Micheldever Road.

Bus Travel

A bus service runs through the Picket Twenty development, with discounted travel available to Picket Twenty residents. Further information about this can be found on the Test Valley Borough Council website and an application form can be downloaded below:

Car Travel

We accept that there may be times when parents need to transport their child to school by car.

There is a very clear route, marked in yellow, for cars on the map (above).

THANK YOU.

A community car park is available to the side of the school for parents and visitors to 'drop off' children, but should not be used as a long term parking place. This car park is also used by construction traffic. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED OR ALLOW THEM TO RUN THROUGH THE CAR PARK.

Please do not leave your car in one of the laybys at the front of the school, block the drive of a resident or park, leave your car parked in the road, or in the staff car park.
